Hello everyone,
We are looking for an IP camera for our driveway and entrance area. The Dahua 5442 series sounds very promising. Therefore, I have planned an IP-B5442E-ZE for the driveway area. It will be mounted in a corner at about 2.50m (8 feet) height and should cover the driveway at a 90° angle. The range required is only 10m (33 feet). Is the bullet shape suitable for this, or would an eyeball model be better?

The entrance area is much more complex. Here, at least 180° need to be covered. In addition, there are several steps leading down quite a bit. The area behind the house should also be visible if possible. Is the IPC-HDPW5442G-Z suitable for this? Or how would you best cover this area? Unfortunately, I have only installed Simplex CAT cable as you can see in the photo.

Feasible but challenging.
I agree with [USER=50552]@superzapp but would like to clarify further.
It is possible with 4 devices, but not with 4 camera sensors of good quality.
Now I’ll get a bit creative:
2 x 270° or 360° cameras with corner lens and mount (AXIS P3137-PLE, or alternatively the discontinued P3707-PE), recognized as one of the most innovative and best 360° cameras. With these, you cover 270°, and the fourth sensor covers the area beneath the camera.
1 x 180° camera (Axis P3807-PVE)
1 x 130° camera with weather shield (Axis M3106-LVE MK II)
This would be the optimal solution with Axis. I understand this is likely far beyond your budget.
Therefore, check with other manufacturers to see if you can find cameras with suitable fields of view that meet your needs. I suspect you will still fall in the price range of roughly 500€-1000€.
Unfortunately, you have too few camera positions. With 8 units, you could have used more affordable standard cameras.

I would plan for about 6 outdoor cameras, including one for the front door and possibly another in the garage.
Choosing the manufacturer is always tricky, but with brands like Axis, Hikvision, etc., you can’t go wrong. Can we manage with 4? So far, I have only planned power/LAN connections at the 4 marked locations.
