My specific question is: Which tools should you absolutely not forget when assembling Ikea Platsa? I understand that the frame is assembled with screws and wall plugs, but does anyone have experience with tools that are often overlooked yet very helpful? Tips on different screw types, drilling, adjustments, or assembly steps are also welcome so I can be optimally prepared.

For Ikea PLATSA, you definitely need a Phillips screwdriver, preferably with a comfortable grip. Additionally, a cordless drill is helpful to save effort and time. A small hammer can also be useful in case dowels need to be tapped in.

Besides a Phillips screwdriver and a cordless drill, I also recommend a spirit level to make sure everything is hung straight. A measuring tape or ruler is also useful to check distances. If you need to drill into walls, you should have a suitable drill bit – usually 6 to 8 mm (0.24 to 0.31 inches), depending on the type of anchors used. A small set of Allen keys is usually included with PLATSA, but it’s good to have your own set on hand in case something gets lost.

Don’t forget: a rubber mallet or a small rubber hammer for delicate cabinet parts. This helps prevent dents when driving in dowels or adjusting side panels. Otherwise, as already mentioned, a Phillips screwdriver and a cordless drill.

I completely understand how frustrating it is to realize in the middle of construction that a tool is missing. I experienced that once with the spirit level!
