Hello everyone,

I have a question specifically about tools that can make fine-tuning a Billy bookshelf easier. Often, the shelves hang unevenly or the doors can’t be properly adjusted, which affects stability and appearance. Therefore, I’m interested in which tools you find particularly helpful for fine-tuning a Billy. I’m not only referring to the classic screwdriver set but also any special tools or techniques that make the process easier or more precise.

What tips and experiences can you share here? I look forward to exchanging concrete recommendations and approaches.

I also use a spirit level and a reliable cordless drill. Additionally, a few washers can easily compensate for small height differences.

Cordless screwdriver with depth stop

Thanks for this tip, I actually only own a simple drill driver without a depth stop, which might explain some of the issues with adjustment.

Clamp for securing

I hadn’t thought of something like that before, but it could definitely help when working alone.

Are there common weak points in Billy shelves where using such tools is especially important? For example, with the doors or the shelves?
