I am planning to assemble an Ikea Pax wardrobe in the next few weeks, but I’ve realized that having certain tools and aids could make the process much easier. Therefore, I would like to ask you: from your experience, which tools are truly helpful to make assembling the Ikea Pax more efficient and less frustrating? I am especially interested in whether you would recommend specific screwdrivers, cordless drills, or other aids like clamps or assembly templates. It would also be useful to know if a basic set of handyman tools is sufficient or if it makes sense to get specialized equipment specifically for the Pax.

Additionally, I would recommend a small set of hex keys. Ikea often supplies screws like these, and it’s not always convenient to use the professional-grade hex keys from contractors. You can also find them useful for later adjustments.

For assembling Pax, I can also recommend not underestimating the included tools. The mini hex keys and screwdrivers are small but functional enough. However, it’s better to use your own tools to speed up the process.

I would like to add that a sturdy workbench or a suitable surface can be very helpful to prevent injuries or damage during assembly. Likewise, a set of various screwdrivers and, if necessary, a ratchet screwdriver is useful for easily handling screws in hard-to-reach places. Don’t forget a straight spirit level, especially when working with large Pax units. Have you already checked how the anchoring to the wall will be done?

Yes, the instructions recommend anchoring with plugs and screws that need to be fixed into the wall. I plan to use a hammer drill since the wall is concrete. A ratchet screwdriver will also be used for the final assembly. Your tips are very helpful, especially the advice about extension bits and the correct Allen keys! Thanks for the detailed guidance.
