Hello everyone, I am currently planning to assemble some furniture from the IKEA Brimnes series and want to prepare well in advance. My question is: What tools are actually needed to properly and efficiently assemble the furniture from the Brimnes line? I have already read the IKEA assembly instructions, but they often only show symbols, so it is unclear whether the included tools are sufficient or if it is better to have some additional tools on hand. I am especially interested in tools that make the assembly easier or help avoid common pitfalls. I would be very grateful for a detailed list along with a brief explanation of why each tool is needed!
Additionally, I would like to point out the following regarding the tools mentioned: The hammer is primarily needed for driving in the wooden dowels. It is helpful to use a wooden block or scrap piece as a buffer between the hammer and the wood to prevent any damage. I also recommend a level working surface and using a low speed on the cordless drill to avoid damaging the material.
Many people underestimate that the correct technique is just as important as using the right tools.

I just assembled the Brimnes bed myself and can say that while the process is straightforward, the screws with the included mini Allen key are really tedious to handle. A cordless drill helped me a lot, but I was sometimes unsure if I was tightening too much.
I suggest taking your time and periodically checking that everything is properly aligned. Maybe you can share your experiences here on how you approach this?

I disagree with that, at least regarding the use of a cordless screwdriver without torque control.

I recommend taking your time and periodically checking that everything fits properly. Exactly. Regularly verifying the fit is crucial for stability and durability. This is especially important with Brimnes, where many small components are used. Additionally, it should be mentioned that a well-lit workspace is necessary to ensure small connecting parts are correctly installed.
