Hello everyone,
I have assembled several IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets and am currently adjusting the doors. I noticed that adjusting the doors can be quite challenging, especially if you don’t have the right tools or aids on hand.
I’m interested in hearing: Which tools have you found particularly practical and helpful when adjusting Metod cabinet doors?
I’m especially looking for advice on accuracy, ease of use, and whether there are any special tools that go beyond the included screwdriver.
Are there any tips on specific attachments or supplementary devices that make the adjustment easier or more precise?
Thank you very much for your support!

Do you have recommendations for compact ratchets that are good for fine work in the kitchen?Yes, definitely! For the kitchen or for adjusting furniture in general, I recommend a mini ratchet with a reversible mechanism and a set of matching bits. These are often available in affordable toolkits for DIY enthusiasts or in small sets including bits from PH0 to PH2 plus hex (Allen) key attachments.
Make sure the ratchet fits comfortably in your hand and has a fine tooth count (e.g., 72 teeth), so you can turn screws precisely with short movements, even in tight spaces.
These ratchets are very handy, lightweight, and fit into the smallest toolbox. They give you more control than a regular screwdriver, saving time and frustration.
Also, a handle with a non-slip grip is beneficial, especially if your hands are a bit damp. This is really helpful for Metod doors!
