Hello everyone, I am currently planning to assemble the IKEA Platsa system and would like to know: What techniques and approaches have helped you the most when assembling the Platsa system with two people? Since these are modular cabinet units, I am interested in methods that make the assembly not only more efficient but also safer and less physically demanding. Perhaps you have tips on dividing the work, properly securing the parts, or dealing with difficult fittings? I look forward to constructive and well-explained experiences.

One small tip from me: Little helpers like table clamps or a ratchet strap can assist you in holding parts together while connecting them, so you don’t have to constantly press or hold them yourself. Sometimes it makes the process easier – and yes, sometimes you just need those improvised tools 🙂

For the Platsa build, we found it effective to first assemble the heavy side panels on the floor, then attach the back panel to ensure stability. Meanwhile, the second person can hand over the screws and prepare the tools, keeping the process smooth.

You should always ensure that the components are built on a level surface. This prevents the cabinet from wobbling later or the doors not closing properly. Additionally, it makes installing the hinges much easier.
