carthamen10 Dec 2012 20:28Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and have been really impressed by the amount of valuable information here. It has helped me a lot, and every day I understand more about the "darkness" of house construction. Thank you for the many interesting posts and suggestions.
Now I have a specific question. What wall thickness (bricks/blocks plus insulation) can be considered a standard value?
The house faces southwest, will not have brick cladding, and will receive a white exterior plaster. Which materials are best suited (thickness and type), and are there significant cost differences?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Jehovah topic
In the end—based on my experience—the choice always depends on the homeowners’ preferences and, of course, their budget. Hollow clay bricks are more expensive than aerated concrete; sand-lime bricks provide better sound insulation but require an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS, also known as external wall insulation system). Expanded clay also needs an ETICS, which somewhat negates its other qualities, and so on.
