Hello everyone,
I am currently looking into spare parts for the IKEA Platsa system and would like to know which replacement parts you reorder most frequently. I am especially interested in whether there are common weak points, such as hinges, drawer runners, or assembly fittings, that tend to need replacement more often, and whether these parts are readily available from IKEA or if there are often supply shortages. I look forward to your experiences and advice on which Platsa spare parts are regularly reordered and why.

I find this topic important because it is difficult to predict when something might break, and then you need to act quickly. Are there any insights or experience regarding this? I have already replaced my hinges, but so far no other parts.

I am also interested in hearing if anyone has experience with long-term use of Platsa and whether there are specific spare parts that tend to be needed only after several years.
From my long-term observations with Platsa, the material of the drawer slides is the main weak point over a period of 3 to 5 years. Due to the weight and frequent use, the rollers or plastic components of the slides tend to wear out. The hinges usually last longer, but they can also cause issues after 5 to 7 years if used often. Screws and clips generally hold up well, provided there was no improper installation.

Hinges are somewhat more durable, but they do undergo significant mechanical stress.

mentioned in my long-term observations with Platsa, the biggest weakness over 3-5 years is mainly the material of the drawer slides

If you are not precise when ordering here, you often receive the wrong parts. This is a very important point, thank you! I also noticed that some of you mention screws as common replacement parts. Are these regular standard screws, or specific IKEA screws that are not easy to replace? I ask because I have encountered different screws in similar furniture before, but with Platsa I’m not sure yet if I can buy replacements at a hardware store or if I always need to order directly from IKEA.
