Hello everyone,

I am currently looking into spare parts for the IKEA Platsa system and would like to know which replacement parts you reorder most frequently. I am especially interested in whether there are common weak points, such as hinges, drawer runners, or assembly fittings, that tend to need replacement more often, and whether these parts are readily available from IKEA or if there are often supply shortages. I look forward to your experiences and advice on which Platsa spare parts are regularly reordered and why.

Hinges are often the first items reordered for Platsa. Durability is not always great. Additionally, the screws and connecting fittings are sometimes not long-lasting and need to be replaced.

I am happy to provide a structured overview:

- Metal hinges are frequently reordered because they tend to wear out or bend more quickly under stress.
- Additionally, drawer slides are prone to issues, especially the rollers or guide rails, which can jam or break with heavy use.
- The particleboard shelves themselves last longer, but the fastening clips and adjustable dowels used for attachment are often lost or broken.

When ordering replacement parts, it is important to specify the exact model name and color, as Platsa has various versions. Inaccurate ordering often results in receiving incorrect parts.

I have mostly replaced the screws and the drawer slides. The slides, in particular, tend to wear out quickly with frequent use.

Due to the design of Platsa components, the screws and fasteners are subject to particularly high stress.

In my opinion, the following spare parts are most commonly needed:

- Hinges (typical wear from opening and closing)
- Drawer slides / rollers (mechanically heavily used)
- Fasteners (screws, dowels – often damaged or lost during moving or readjustment)

Purchasing replacements directly from IKEA usually works smoothly if exact model names are available. Supply shortages are rare, but seasonal fluctuations may occur.

Hinges and drawer slides are usually the mechanical parts that need to be reordered. Screws can also get lost during installation.
