Hello everyone,

I have a specific question regarding spare parts for the Ikea Brimnes furniture series. Since I need to replace some components, I am particularly interested in which Brimnes spare parts are usually quickly available when ordering directly from Ikea or online.

I’m not only referring to common items like screws or handles, but also parts such as drawer runners, back panels, or connecting fittings, which sometimes break or wear out.

Does anyone have experience with the availability of these various Brimnes spare parts at Ikea, and whether there are regional differences or preferred delivery methods?

I am looking for a reliable assessment to better plan my repair work. Thank you in advance!

Basically, Ikea maintains a certain standard of availability for Brimnes replacement parts, focusing on the most commonly needed components.

- Screws, handles, and small connectors are usually available within a few days, as these parts are stocked in larger quantities.
- Drawer slides and rollers are somewhat less quickly available, with a delivery time of about one week.
- Back panels or larger boards are often only available on order, and delivery times can extend up to two weeks.

Regional variations mainly exist in that larger Ikea stores can provide certain replacement parts faster than smaller branches. Online orders generally require additional shipping time, so picking up in-store is often quicker.

My advice: before purchasing, contact the respective location by phone or email to check the current availability of replacement parts.

I can confirm that. I recently ordered handles, and they arrived in three days.

You need to allow a bit more time for those, usually around two weeks. So if you need anything in the meantime, I would pick up the small parts directly.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to bring a bit of fun into the spare parts topic 😉. The Brimnes drawer runners are kind of like the ‘everyday heroes.’ They hold up really well, but when they do fail, it’s great to know that the part doesn’t have to be on backorder forever.

And yes, screws and handles are usually available right away. I once had to wait a week because I was replacing something on the base frame, specifically the back panels—it was pretty cool that I at least got that info directly.

So in short: Ikea tries to deliver the parts as quickly as possible, but sometimes a bit of patience is needed. It’s worth following up—and if something isn’t available, it’s better to call customer service directly, as they can sometimes work things out!

Good luck with the repair. Strong furniture actually lasts a lot longer than you might think!

I would like to add some practical advice regarding spare part requests for Ikea Brimnes:

- It is best to prepare a detailed list of the required spare parts, including item numbers if available, before making contact.
- For common wear parts such as drawer slides and handles, Ikea can also provide information about stock availability or standard delivery times.

Regional differences mainly exist because inventory management varies between individual stores. At some locations, spare parts can be collected onsite, while at others, they are shipped centrally from a warehouse.

Additionally, I recommend asking Ikea customer service directly about alternative parts in case certain components are not available – sometimes compatible spare parts from other product lines exist.
