Hello,
I want smooth plastered walls inside. My painter says that Rotband or Goldband would be sufficient.
From relatives and colleagues, I keep hearing that you need to use special plasters, which cost around 60-100€ for 20kg.
The plaster will be applied over regular cement plaster.
Regards

@TE: Using gypsum plaster over lime-cement plaster is a bad idea. They are not compatible...
There are special smooth lime-cement plasters designed to be troweled smooth as a finish coat.
We will also use those on some walls – and they don’t cost 60-100 euros per bag.

Thanks for the advice
Now I have to replace the plaster on almost 300 sqm (3200 sq ft) of surface area...
I always thought gypsum plaster under lime-cement plaster would be the problem — if the gypsum gets wet, the lime-cement layer on top can detach (for example, if the electrician applies too much filler).
I want to use a cement plaster because I consider it to be a higher-quality and, above all, more durable base.
I will check again with some plastering companies to see if they can provide a smooth cement plaster that can be painted directly.
@Sebastian
Why is gypsum plaster over cement plaster a bad idea?

We will also partially paint the cement plaster because we like the rough texture combined with wall lights.

We had SM700 pro applied as a finishing coat in the bathroom.
Gypsum plaster on cement will eventually flake off. Maybe not immediately, but I know this from our previous house. Not a good idea.
