VolkmannHello,
we want to modernize our terrace and garden paths, which means:
- new terrace slabs or tiles
- new paving for the garden paths
- replacement of the old terrace roof
We do not just want to change the materials, but possibly also the design somewhat (for example, the size of the terrace, the layout of the paths, etc.).
Who should we consult to ensure
a) a unified plan and
b) that the different trades involved in the implementation actually coordinate properly (for example, the foundation for the terrace roof must match the terrace slabs, etc.)?
Should we go to an architect? Or would a landscape gardener be the right contact? Or should we go to each specialist separately and coordinate ourselves (hoping that everything works smoothly and none of the parties blame any issues on the others)?
Regards,
Volkmann

But there was an issue involving "using a cannon to kill a sparrow."
So there are supposed to be landscape gardeners or landscapers who can do it as well. However, planning and supervision are not necessarily their strong points.

My recommendation is to negotiate a price per square meter rather than hourly.
