Hello everyone,

I recently purchased the Ikea Metod assembly kit to build my kitchen. I noticed that the instructions mention different types of screws but don’t clearly specify which screws are actually included in the assembly kit and which I would need to buy separately.

My specific question is: Which screws are included in the Ikea Metod assembly kit so I can avoid any surprises during installation?

I’m also interested to know whether the screws vary depending on the kitchen unit (e.g., wall cabinets, base cabinets, or drawer systems), or if the kit contains a uniform assortment of screws.

I would appreciate a detailed explanation of exactly which screws are included in the set and whether there are any special screws that should be purchased additionally.

Thank you in advance!

Normally, the following applies:
- To join the carcasses together, wood screws or cam connectors 30 mm to 40 mm long (1.2 to 1.6 inches) are used.
- Thinner, shorter screws are intended for attaching the back panel.
- Larger, sturdier screws with appropriate wall anchors, which are not included in the assembly kit, are used for wall mounting.

This assignment is usually illustrated or described in the Ikea assembly instructions.

I just wanted to mention again how incredibly easy the cam screws are to use! Everything holds firmly without much effort.

But yes, for wall mounting I also bought special screws. Safety comes first!

So: mounting set for the carcass is great, but get separate screws for the wall!

I find that a very reassuring point. Especially with kitchens, the strength of the wall installation is crucial since a lot of weight will be supported later on. Thanks for the tip!
