Hello everyone.

I am quite inexperienced with this topic but would like to avoid buying something unsuitable. Which satellite dish would you recommend?

Thank you very much

A round one

Seriously? It doesn’t matter at all which satellite dish you buy. A more important question is how many TV connections there are in the house.

This is what it looks like. If you don’t need anything special beyond Astra 19.2, you can safely go for the one available for around 1.50 euros at a preferred dealer (offline or online).

You can't go wrong with the satellite dish as long as you choose the right color, diameter, durability, and rust resistance. Use an LNB from reputable brands such as Kathrein, Schwaiger, Fuba, or Humax – there are many reliable options. Don’t skimp on cable quality or connectors.

The dish size depends on your preferred channels – we enjoy British channels and use an 80cm (31.5 inches) dish here in the Bergisches Land region, which works very well. The LNB targets two satellites; this is sufficient for HD reception of German channels, but for the British channels, bad weather can cause issues.

Which satellite with the British one are you aiming for?
