Hello everyone,
I would be interested to know which security standard you have chosen for your windows. I have set up a survey for this. Due to the many possible combinations, please select the option that best applies. Any additional details can be provided in the free text section.
Only those who have voted themselves can see the results.
Good luck

Well, let me put it this way:
If someone stands at your bedside at night with a firearm and doesn’t speak German, you’ll buy it—no matter how expensive (almost).
The roof has external insulation above the rafters, with grids/pipes running underneath (three nested inside each other; any flexible tool gets stuck).
Windows and such were installed by a specialist company because the requirements for the masonry were already quite high... I would never retrofit something like that; for a new build, it was possible.
Regarding the mushroom-head fittings, etc.:
Plastic windows, even with mushroom-head locks, can be surprisingly easy to open if not locked... I couldn’t believe it myself, and it’s hardly noticeable.
Problem: If the intruder gets hold of a mushroom head, they can push the entire fitting and thus open the window.
Much of it is just sales strategy/marketing... causing uncertainty, etc.
Our house stands very exposed in a rural area... if we had several neighbors, something like this probably wouldn’t be necessary.
Firefighters/emergency services have a key.

I don’t really like to write this... Windows and doors are just standard. Roto handles without locks, because you only lose the keys. Now that it’s warmer, some are also always slightly open for ventilation—we like fresh air. I often forget to lock the doors; she complains about it, but that’s how it is. Nothing has ever happened. Residence is in the northern part of Schleswig-Holstein, a coastal town with about 10,000 inhabitants, in a residential area on the outskirts. Karsten

Theodorius2 Jan 2019 20:18Hello!
I still have to choose the windows... I hope I can afford at least a decent standard. I’m curious about the prices.
One thing is certain: the bedroom will get an extra grille because it has a floor-to-ceiling, double-leaf window and I want to sleep with the window fully open in summer.
Otherwise, I believe I can somewhat compensate for mechanical protection with electronic security... my main concern is not being surprised while sleeping, but still having the chance to escape or call the police.
