Hello everyone,
What type of roof did you choose and why? Many of you probably faced restrictions due to the building permit or planning permission. What were those restrictions? What did you decide on as a result, and what would you have chosen without any limitations? Are you satisfied with your choice? What would you do differently now?
And to all those interested in building: What about you? Do you already have a favorite roof style?
Best regards,
Ddorfer
P.S. If your option isn’t listed, please choose the one that comes closest.

If I had my own plot of land and unlimited funds, I would hire an architect to design a house tailored to my usage requirements and the location. The roof would be a result of this design, but not a precondition.

We planned a town villa with a 30° hipped roof, although we preferred the look of a traditional gable roof. For us, the deciding factor was the better use of space on the upper floor without sloping ceilings. We chose 30° so that the attic would have standing height in the middle. There are also two skylights and a larger attic hatch to allow for the possibility of installing a fixed space-saving staircase later, so the attic can be partially used as a play area for the children or a hobby room.
