Hello everyone, I recently purchased an Ikea Platsa system and am now looking for suitable repair kits to use for minor maintenance and replacement parts. Since the PLATSA modules are sometimes specially designed, I want to avoid using generic screws or repair kits that might not be fully compatible. Are there any recommendations for kits that ideally include the typical dowels, screws, connectors, and possibly fittings or special corner connectors that fit PLATSA exactly? It is also important to me that these are readily available in Germany and involve as little complicated assembly as possible. I look forward to specific tips or experiences with suitable repair kits for Ikea PLATSA, preferably including advice on installation or quality.

The PLATSA series uses specific connectors and screws that Ikea usually does not sell individually This is only partly true. There are original parts available at Ikea, but their availability is not always guaranteed. Therefore, it can be worthwhile to consider suitable universal sets. However, the strength of the connections should be carefully evaluated in this case. Not every "universal" repair kit perfectly matches the load-bearing requirements of the modular Platsa construction.
If you want to repair or upgrade PLATSA, you should especially pay attention to the following components:
- 6 mm (1/4 inch) round dowels that fit the pre-drilled holes
- Furniture connectors with a vertical locking mechanism, as this ensures a secure connection between the elements
- Screws with metric threads M4 or M5 for fastening and stability
- Furniture hinge fasteners if doors are involved
Multi-piece sets that include these components are recommended. A good option is a repair kit mainly consisting of standard wooden connector parts, as these are precise-fitting and durable.
