Hello everyone,

We are currently in the interior finishing phase of our house construction. Now it’s time for our own work. This includes painting. Only the important rooms (stairwell, living/dining room) will be plastered professionally later. What we are a bit concerned about is applying the right primers. Maybe someone can give us some tips and answers to the following questions:

- For the basement with cast exterior concrete walls and masonry interior walls (aerated concrete + gypsum plaster), we just want to paint them white. I am planning to use an adhesion primer on the concrete wall and a deep-penetrating primer on the interior walls... Is that correct?
- A partition wall in the basement made of gypsum panel wall should also be painted. I would also use the adhesion primer there?
- The remaining rooms on the upper floor and ground floor will have non-woven wallpaper applied over gypsum plaster, drywall panels on the ceiling, and gypsum panel walls. Here, I would use a special wallpaper primer!?

Is this approach correct and sensible in terms of durability, etc.?

We would appreciate your support. Many thanks in advance.

Primer is very effective, regardless of the surface. A special wallpaper primer is not necessary. A standard primer is completely sufficient here.
