I am planning to pave my driveway soon. Now I am considering how deep to lay the gravel base. For frost protection, I will use gravel with a grain size of 0/32. I am thinking about 20 to 25 cm (8 to 10 inches) – would that be sufficient?

Hello,
I have now started with the excavation and have already found quite a few things. I discovered parts of an old telegraph pole on my site. I consulted the landscaping contractor, and he said we don’t need any special frost protection. We will now lay about 20 to 25 cm (8 to 10 inches) of base layer and compact it thoroughly. It is hard work, but that’s no problem for me as an office worker.
