we are going to start building early next year, and now I am thinking about the shower enclosure. Clear glass shower enclosures look very elegant, but I have heard from many people that they require a lot of maintenance. Currently, in our rental apartment, we have a shower enclosure made of hard plexiglass with a droplet pattern. This shower is very easy to maintain because you don’t need to squeegee it, and it is only thoroughly cleaned once a week; otherwise, it is simply rinsed with water after showering. We have soft water. In our new house, the water will be moderately hard (8).
There are satin-frosted glass shower enclosures, and I have also heard that there are some with droplet patterns.
Which ones are easier to maintain, and where can they be purchased (manufacturers)?
(We have decided on the size 90x90cm (35x35 inches))

I’ve always had difficulties with shower enclosures because they require a lot of cleaning and sooner or later start to look unattractive.
Since you are building new, have you considered installing a walk-in shower? The additional cost is manageable, and the investment offers several advantages.
Firstly, you can easily access the shower even with back pain or other mobility issues. Secondly, you can separate the shower area with a so-called privacy screen. Just add a sauna towel in front of the shower, and you don’t need a shower enclosure. And very importantly: you won’t feel cold when you step out of the shower.

It should be noted that this option also requires regular cleaning, as longer cleaning intervals can lead to stubborn deposits on tiles and grout.
