Hello everyone,

Our house construction is now well advanced.

At the moment, we are looking for suitable lamps and the corresponding light bulbs.

We have planned recessed spotlights in the open wooden ceiling on the ground floor. How many watts should the lamps have? What do you recommend? What should we pay attention to?

Thank you for your brief feedback.

Definitely avoid retrofit junk 🙂 If using spotlights... then 24 volts. Technically, this is currently the "gold standard." Flicker-free and silent dimming all the way down.

OFFTOPIC: Are you looking at a wall???

I tested several 230 V bulbs (GU10) for our new build. The only one that really convinced me was LEDON. There was no flickering, and the dimming range goes quite low. However, the dimming is not nearly as pleasant as with halogen. The color temperature does not change as "naturally" when dimmed. The color rendering with LEDON is very good again, with no difference compared to halogen.

I found Osram to be the worst, but they cost only about half as much.

So, I need about 30 pieces. Some will be installed between the beams (as shown in the pictures), and on the first floor, they will be mounted directly into the ceiling.

I really have no idea about this and have now searched for "recessed LED downlights" on Amazon, for example. What should I pay attention to? Should they be 24V? How many watts do they need? And warm white or cool white?

Regarding the off-topic question:
At first, we were not really aware, but since we have only 4.5m (15 feet) left to the property line, we will be looking at our neighbor’s carport. However, we will plant a hedge in front of it.
