Hello everyone, I want to upgrade my Ikea Besta shelving unit and sideboard with LED lighting and am looking for recommendations on suitable LED lights for this purpose. It is important to me that the LEDs are both visually appealing and provide good illumination without being too harsh or uneven. Ideally, the installation should be simple, preferably with integrated clips or adhesive strips to avoid major drilling. It would also be great if the LEDs are dimmable and have a warm color temperature of around 2700 to 3000 Kelvin (49°F to 54°F) to create a cozy atmosphere. Does anyone have experience with specific brands or models that work particularly well with the Besta range? Thanks in advance for your advice!
For pleasant lighting in Ikea Besta shelves, I recommend LED strips with a minimum CRI of 90 (color rendering index) and a color temperature between 2700 and 3000 Kelvin. It is important to use a high-quality power supply to avoid voltage fluctuations, which can cause flickering. Aluminum profiles extend the lifespan of the LEDs through better heat dissipation and prevent overheating. Mounting with clips is advisable to allow flexibility for future adjustments. Additionally, dimmer controls can not only enhance the ambiance but also improve energy efficiency. A combination with Philips Hue LED strips or comparable brands is a reliable option if Wi-Fi connectivity is desired. For simple installations, a classic 12V LED strip with a suitable dimmer is sufficient.

Dimmability also allows for adjustments to different times of day or uses of the shelving unit.
