I fully agree. Additionally, I can add:

- The brightness should be between 300 and 500 lumens per meter to create pleasant indirect lighting without causing glare.
- A CRI (Color Rendering Index) of at least 80 is recommended so that the colors of objects on the Besta look relaxed and natural.
- For installation, it’s important that the LEDs are placed close together, as otherwise the lighting can appear uneven.

IKEA also offers its own LED solutions that visually match well and are perfectly compatible with Besta, such as the PATRULL LED strips, which are already suitable for furniture use. A downside is that these tend to be more expensive and less flexible in length.

I can totally confirm that! I installed LED strips from IKEA under my Besta cabinets six months ago and I’m really happy with the result! The installation is super easy because the strips fit perfectly, and the light is nicely warm. You can tell they’re designed specifically for the furniture.

It’s important to pay attention when buying which types of plugs and power supplies you get. Sometimes they are meant for certain outlets, so it’s best to check beforehand.
