ᐅ Which interior plaster should I choose? Lime plaster or lime-cement plaster? Any experiences?

Hello, I have been trying for months to find out if there is an alternative to gypsum plaster for interior walls.
We currently live in a newly built house (gypsum plaster) and it always feels very, very dry.
I’m someone who is quite sensitive and notices these things.
Now I am considering using lime-cement plaster (a finer version) or lime plaster, and I am looking for other homeowners who have had issues with these materials.
I hope to get information here from people who do not have gypsum plaster in their living spaces.
P.S. I recently visited a newly plastered house (cold cement plaster) and I was able to breathe much easier.
However, I am still hesitant to give the “go-ahead” to my plasterer.

Is gypsum plaster mineral-based and vapor-permeable?
Isn't it actually outdated... and just chemicals?Probably you are thinking of recycled gypsum (REA gypsum). REA gypsum is produced during flue gas desulfurization, but the pollutant levels are so low that it can be safely used in building materials. This also means that natural gypsum does not need to be mined.
As far as I know, almost every manufacturer of gypsum building products mainly uses REA gypsum for plasters, gypsum boards, drywall underlayment boards, etc. This is also because it is cheaper than natural gypsum. Using recycled components is also beneficial for green building certifications.
Hello everyone,
I often see the headline "lime-cement plaster" vs. "lime-gypsum plaster." But in the same articles, they only mention gypsum plaster. Does that mean lime-gypsum plaster equals gypsum plaster?

When you talk about gypsum plaster, do you mean lime-gypsum? No one uses pure gypsum plaster anymore, right?

We have lime-gypsum plaster as standard. If not, we would at least insist on a lime content.

Yes! In a household with smokers, even the lime plaster tends to cough sometimes.
