Hello everyone,

I am currently about to assemble the IKEA Brimnes wardrobe and wonder which instructions best help to make the process as simple, efficient, and error-free as possible.

I am interested not only in the original IKEA manual but also in alternative aids such as video tutorials, PDF instructions, blogs, or perhaps specific tips that you have found particularly useful in practice.

Is there a version that significantly simplifies the assembly process, especially for DIY beginners or people with little experience? Or maybe a method that also offers clear advantages for more experienced home builders?

I appreciate detailed feedback, including common pitfalls, so I can prepare myself as well as possible.

I recommend using the original IKEA instructions: clearly structured, including all parts and work steps. Simply follow step by step without skipping.

Additional tip: Assemble all parts sorted before starting the installation.

Hello Alvin,

Especially with projects like the BRIMNES, it’s worth studying the assembly instructions carefully before starting.

My tip:
- First, look through all the assembly steps and compare them to the individual parts so you know what to expect.
- Before beginning, check that all screws and panels are present.
- Additionally, use a good YouTube video to visualize the key steps again; this is particularly helpful for understanding the mounting brackets and hinges.

A common mistake is mixing up the side panels or inserting the screws incorrectly. It’s advisable to double-check before tightening.

I would like to add that, in addition to the printed manual, a digital PDF version often provides more detailed illustrations. When assembling, I frequently use a tablet or laptop with the PDF open, which allows me to quickly zoom in or switch between pages.

Also:
- Have all your tools (Allen keys, screwdrivers) ready so you don’t have to stop while screwing.
- Work on a flat, well-lit surface.

And a tip from my own experience: number or mark parts with small sticky notes if the part numbers in the manual are not sufficient for you.

The original manual is usually the best. Videos are nice, but they often take longer than expected. If you get familiar with the manual, it should work smoothly.

The BRIMNES is a rather complex piece of furniture, so I recommend using a combination of several aids:

- The original IKEA instructions are generally sufficient, but the pictograms can sometimes be confusing for beginners.
- Additionally, a video tutorial can be very helpful, especially for understanding delicate steps like hanging the doors or aligning the drawers.

It is also important to take your time and not rush through the individual steps. Some materials are sensitive to overtightening the screws, which can affect stability later on.
