Hello everyone, I am currently planning to set up a teenager’s bedroom and am considering using IKEA Platsa systems for this. My question is, which of the many Platsa options are particularly suitable for a teenager’s room when focusing on functionality, storage space, and flexibility? I am especially thinking about combinations that can be rearranged or expanded later on. Are there any recommendations based on experience, for example, which height or depth works best, or whether it is better to choose open or closed units? Which options are especially recommended for a relatively small room but still require as much storage as possible for clothing, school supplies, and hobbies? Looking forward to your tips and specific examples!

I am mainly thinking about combinations that can still be redesigned or expanded later.I completely agree with you! The strength of Platsa is exactly that you don’t have to worry if tastes or needs change over time.
A small tip: The modules with open compartments are great for quickly putting down your phone, books, or snacks – basically the stage for youth life.
And for storage: doors or drawers help keep things organized so that chaos doesn’t take over. This way, both parents and kids can stay happy! 😊
Oh, and don’t forget! The assembly is quite simple, so when you want to change things up, you can easily rearrange.

The base modules with a depth of 40 cm (16 inches) provide ample storage space for clothes and school supplies.I would also like to emphasize that the dimensions of the Platsa modules are especially optimized for average youth bedrooms.
The 40 cm (16 inches) depth offers a good balance between storage capacity and freedom of movement in the room. The 128 cm (50 inches) high modules are ergonomically designed, allowing teenagers to easily reach all areas.
Furthermore, combining these with doors made from MDF surfaces is recommended, as they are durable and easy to maintain, even with frequent use.
