Hello everyone, I am currently planning my new kitchen using the Ikea Metod system and am trying to choose the right countertop. For me, heat resistance is especially important because I often place hot pots and pans directly on the surface. I am therefore very interested in which Ikea Metod countertop materials are considered heat resistant or what temperatures they can generally withstand without damage. Does anyone have practical experience or reliable information on which materials can be safely used around cooktops and work surfaces? Recommendations that go beyond simple surface protection measures are also welcome. Thanks in advance for your support!
In conclusion: Ikea Metod countertops made of laminate, veneer, or HPL should be handled with care regarding heat exposure. For greater heat resistance, quartz or natural stone is recommended, although they are not completely heatproof and should still be protected with coasters. This aligns with the general technical assessments of these materials.
