Hello everyone,
I am currently planning to enhance my Pax wardrobe and am considering the Komplement series from Ikea. Specifically, I am interested in which Komplement components fit best into the Pax units – both in terms of functionality and overall aesthetics.
I am especially interested in the idea of organizing the interior more effectively without making it look cluttered or confusing. Do you have any experience with which Komplement elements work well together or with Pax? For example, drawers, shelves, clothes rails, or organizers?
It is also important to me to know if certain parts are particularly sturdy or durable, as I use my wardrobe frequently. Perhaps you could also share tips on which combinations have proven practical in everyday use or which are less recommended.
I look forward to your experiences and a lively discussion!

Hey everyone! I love the complement drawers because they slide so smoothly and offer a lot of storage space. My tip: occasionally add a few shelves in between to avoid overcrowding and to help keep everything well organized!
And the clothing rods – super practical, especially when using different heights. This way, you can bring order to the chaos! So, let's get started on the wardrobe!! 🙂👍

Additionally, in practice, it is advisable to pay attention to the load capacity of the shelves. The Komplement shelves are good, but do not overload them too much, or they may warp.
The drawers should also be adjusted regularly if they start rubbing. This significantly extends their lifespan.
I find the whole discussion a bit one-sided. Of course, many Komplement parts fit into Pax – otherwise, they wouldn’t be designed for Pax. But the real question is: how practical is it, really, to rely strictly on Komplement?
There are other solutions and DIY optimizations that are often more durable and flexible. For example, custom-made inserts or wooden shelves that you cut yourself. Komplement is convenient, but that comes at a cost – and it doesn’t always offer the greatest benefit.
Just my opinion, but maybe this should be taken into account when considering your options.

DIY and custom-made options may sound appealing, but they require significantly more work.

Additionally, I recommend complementing the drawers with the overlay divider systems from the series to better organize smaller items. Thanks for the tip, that sounds very helpful! What about the inside of the doors—can complementary parts be attached there as well to create more storage or improve organization?
And one more technical question: Are there shelf options designed specifically for heavier loads, or do you always use the standard shelves?
I want to avoid any risk of the cabinet becoming unstable after a short time, especially since I plan to store heavy shoes and bags.

Are there variants of shelves designed specifically for heavier loads?Yes, Ikea offers reinforced shelves that you can use for heavy items. They are thicker and more sturdy, ideal for shoes and bags.
For storage on the inside of doors: you can use small hooks or organizers from the Komplement series to store belts or scarves.
