Peokrenar26 Jul 2020 18:47Hello everyone,
I am currently planning to expand my Ikea Pax wardrobe with some Komplement components and wonder which of the Komplement elements fit particularly well into the Pax system—not only in terms of quality but also regarding space optimization, easy installation, and user-friendly handling.
I am especially interested in practical experiences with shelves, baskets, drawer fronts, or clothes rails that have proven reliable, and whether there are any combinations that are highly recommended— for example, due to excellent stability or because they significantly simplify organizing clothes and accessories.
Perhaps someone already has hands-on experience with specific Komplement parts that are definitely worth buying or ones to avoid? Tips on how to skillfully combine different colors or materials from Komplement are also very welcome.
Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions!

Hello Peokrenar,
I can share quite a bit from my experience. The shelves made of white lacquered wood are very sturdy and durable, which fits perfectly with the Pax frame system. If you want to stay flexible, the metal storage baskets work really well – they are lightweight, offer a good overview, and are easy to remove.
For drawers, I recommend the ones with integrated full-extension runners; they operate very smoothly and provide plenty of storage space. For clothes rails, the metal ones with a chrome finish are ideal—they can hold a lot of weight and look neat as well.
It’s important during installation to measure precisely, since Pax comes in different widths and some Komplement parts are designed only for specific widths.
I would also suggest opting for adjustable shelves, so you can customize the height for different clothing sizes.
If you have questions about specific parts, feel free to ask again!

Hey Peokrenar,
Well, personally, I love those practical metal baskets with their airy design—they’re really great for storing things like socks or hats, plus they always look cool and are super easy to access 😉.
When it comes to combining colors for complementary parts, I usually find it quite classic, mostly metallic or white. But a tip from me: if you like a minimalist look, try mixing wooden shelves with white drawers. It adds a nice warmth without overdoing it.
Also, glossy drawer fronts look pretty sleek if you want something more modern.
One important thing: always check that the parts you’re combining are from the same production year, because some models have slight changes over time—which can get frustrating during assembly if something doesn’t fit! Good luck with your furniture building 😄

Hello everyone!
Oh, the topic of Pax plus Komplement is really fantastic! I’m having a lot of fun with it because you can create so much customized storage space.
I really like the soft-close drawers – they keep the doors quiet and look high quality. For the clothes rails, I often use the extendable Komplement rods, which are super practical when you need extra space!
As for the baskets, I have mixed feelings – the metal baskets are sturdy, but sometimes I miss having a small divider for smaller items. A suitable organizer inside the basket would be great.
Overall, I can only say: patience during assembly is worth it, and the final result is always so impressive! If you like, try also the Komplement storage drawers; they are great for building compartmentalized sections inside the wardrobe. 🙂
