Good evening,

We plan to build a single-family house of about 140 sqm (1507 sq ft). Which heating system would you recommend for this size, and which ones should be avoided? What factors should we consider when making our choice?

Is geothermal heating sensible without controlled mechanical ventilation or solar panels? Is controlled mechanical ventilation practical on its own without additional systems? Also, what about the follow-up costs, such as maintenance?

Sorry for all the questions at once! I hope someone can help me.

Questions like this come up here frequently. => Use the search function!
This should make it clear that without a thorough preliminary analysis (requirements: capacity, energy for heating and hot water as well as possibly ventilation) no reliable statements can be made. For this, at least the building (geometry, building components, etc.), location, and user behavior need to be defined.
Otherwise, you are just speculating or have a crystal ball at hand ;-)
You should definitely focus on a solid preliminary analysis, planning, and correct sizing of the system. Otherwise, there is a risk of ending up with a money pit!

Best regards

First of all, the question arises: what does the mechanical ventilation system actually have to do with the heating?
A mechanical ventilation system can certainly be combined with any type of heating system.
