Hello,

we have purchased a newly built semi-detached house with 150 sqm (1,615 sq ft).

I wanted to ask which furniture stores in NRW you would recommend for us.

We want to renew or buy new furniture for the entire interior.

Which furniture stores can you recommend?

The furniture should meet the following criteria:
- good quality, "high-end"
- aesthetically pleasing
- durable
- easy to assemble (no drilling, just screwing together)
- prices should be affordable for an average budget

So, nothing cheap like Poco or Roller, but also not extremely expensive.

What kind of nonsense do I have to read here again, unbelievable…

…and these exact pieces of furniture are available as bargains 😀

Maybe you should start by explaining or, even better, organizing which pieces of furniture you actually want to buy. I don’t think you’ll make much progress otherwise.

There is a difference between just having something to sit on and having a piece of furniture you enjoy looking at every time you pass by.

With €30,000-40,000 (around $32,000-43,000), you could furnish two houses very nicely, or you could furnish one house very badly.

Just having a big budget doesn’t help much because you need to find furniture that fits you and your needs.

I often get the impression that fences, kitchens especially, garages, security systems, and home automation gadgets tend to be splurged on compared to mattresses, sofas, or nice decorations and artwork.

You can buy something nice anywhere, from Ikea to Höffner and so on.

Somehow it reminds me of Gerhard Polt’s “In the Bookstore” 😀

Who dared to do something like that to you… terrible, really terrible. Someone must have told you that you are not obligated to read everything here, right? So from now on: you can just keep scrolling and don’t have to read it all… you’re even allowed to do that in our so-called dictatorship 😀

Instead of being so unfriendly, it would be more helpful for the OP if you responded specifically to something or someone. Try it, even if it’s difficult or unfamiliar—being polite can also be fun!

But the OP wasn’t looking for that, they wanted proper furniture. The word “bargains” was apparently added without basis.

The fact is, really good furniture costs a significant amount of money.
We’ve learned this the hard way multiple times.
Take a TV stand, for example.
At first, we thought, since you can find thousands online, “okay, we should be able to find something for about 250–300€ (about 280–340 USD).”
Now, we’re reluctant to buy furniture online. We want to be able to touch and try it out first. So we went to the usual furniture stores. What did we find? For that price, only junk. Cheap veneer that will probably peel off soon, cheap hinges, and so on.
A replacement purchase was inevitable after just a few years.
So, reluctantly, we increased the budget to around 400–600€ (about 450–680 USD).
The result? Exactly the same. Still rubbish. Seriously. We were totally frustrated.
Then we put the budget aside and looked for something high-quality, durable, and that we actually liked.
That’s when we found something. Unfortunately, for 1,500€ (about 1,700 USD)…
We hesitated for a long time and weighed it carefully. Then we purchased it.
One of the best buys we have made in recent years. The design is timeless and will still appeal to us in the future. And it’s truly high-quality. We’ve had the TV stand for about 7 years now, and it still looks like the first day.
Edit: I checked again; it was actually 1,800€ (about 2,040 USD).

Haha, sounds like cognitive dissonance has fully kicked in.

I’m not sure if that’s the case, but since your comment came right after mine, I naturally refer to it and have to admit that I don’t understand it 🙂
