The stones on the balcony of my house, which is just over 25 years old, are chipping and cracking; see pictures. Something new is needed. What would you recommend? Are there low-maintenance synthetic coverings that can be installed here? The balcony faces west and has no roof, so it is fully exposed to the weather.

How about WPC? I would then reseal the balcony, regardless of the decking material used.

What do you mean by "reseal," and what is WPC?

Remove the old tiles and apply a waterproof membrane so that moisture doesn’t penetrate into the concrete of the balcony. Water means wet = freezes in winter = concrete cracks / tiles come loose.

Composite decking boards made from plastic. Search for WPC decking boards; they are also available in small square formats.

We installed WPC decking on our rooftop terrace. It worked really well.

Looks good. Was this done on top of a garage?
How are the decking boards fastened?
