Zenjamino16 Sep 2021 12:41Hello everyone,
Since our prefabricated house’s attic has been finished up to the joists (with fiberglass insulation between them) and I would like to use it as storage space, I now need to install a floor.
As the attic cannot be used as living space according to the building plan / planning permission and it would also be too small for that, I want to do this as cost-effectively as possible.
Since the chimney sweep needs to access the chimney via this area, I would cover the floor with OSB panels or chipboard.
Now my question is, which option is the most affordable here (especially considering current prices).
Thanks for your feedback and best regards

motorradsilke16 Sep 2021 13:42We are currently facing the same decision and are choosing tongue and groove boards. I can get them for 9.50 euros per square meter. The builder also recommended this because, as it is open wood and does not seal airtight, it is better for insulation than OSB.
