Hello

We currently need to decide on a front door.
Our door has an automatic locking system, which we want to extend with an A-opener.

The A-opener is from Winkhaus.

We would like to have a fingerprint scanner installed.

I have read a lot and wonder which fingerprint scanner we should choose.

The options are the Biokey Inside, integrated directly into the door leaf.

Ekey dline, also installed in the door leaf, with communication via Alexa (if I understood correctly).

Ekey home as a wall-mounted unit.

Is the Ekey home also compatible with Alexa?

Which fingerprint scanner would you recommend to us?

@HnghusBY hey, where did you get that information?

I would be happy if the ekey xline (which we plan to install) is available starting January.

Do you have any information about the price?

Since I’m unfortunately not allowed to share a link, I can only give you a few details here:
The ekey xLine in black/white will be available for order from 01/03/23 (January 3rd, 2023), with delivery expected by the end of January. The price is approximately €804 including the controller, frame, and fingerprint sensor. If you need more information, just give ekey a call—they are friendly and helpful (no advertisement).

We have now had the necessary cables installed to accommodate a controller in the fuse box. I’m curious to see how it will work with the app, etc. Our electrician still recommends the older version without an app, which simply always works—even 10 years from now without an app or internet. But I really want a touch scanner, not a swipe scanner. 🙄

Yes, we also want to have the pressure sensor.

The app also has useful features, such as push notifications when the child arrives home.

Usability and adding new users is much easier.

Does anyone here have experience with the ekey dLine?
Has anyone installed it here?

The ekey sensors from dLine, xLine, and sLine are supposed to be the same.

@HnghusBY where did you get that information?
Can you share the name of the shop or website?

Hello everyone,

Please help me with the front door. I have really tried to understand the details but I’m quite lost.
We want to order our front door and are tied to a larger building materials supplier through the general contractor.
Basically, they offer all the standard options, including well-known mid-range manufacturers (e.g., Hörmann, I forgot the second one). But the advice is very poor, and there is hardly any input or "offers" beyond what’s in the brochure.

Aluminum
Inside and outside with filling (is that the correct term when the inside is also flush?)
Concealed hinges (very expensive)

I’m stuck here and need some information:
1. I would like a lock that is always "automatically" locked. Is it possible mechanically or electrically? Pros and cons?
2. We said at the appointment that we want fingerprint access, but it’s not an urgent must-have. I’ve read here that it’s not very secure? Better to avoid an outdoor unit? I read about Ekey here, how does that work? How should the "ordered door" be configured for that? Alternative access methods? If fingerprint or similar, does the door lock have to be electric?

Thanks for the information and best regards,
GD

Regarding the automatic locking: we have a Köster aluminum front door with a "5-point locking AUTO-TRONIC," semi-motorized. Pulling the door closed locks it. I am very satisfied with that.

I do have a fingerprint scanner but no longer use it; the keycard or token on my phone keychain is faster and more reliable, especially in winter.

The "IP video door intercom fingerprint module" only cost about 100€ (HEK), and the "RFID module for the modular outdoor station" was also inexpensive at around 40€ (HEK).

So, we had the Ekey Integra fingerprint scanner installed almost flush with the surface of the side entrance door, including the Auto-Tronic lock.

At the front door, the fingerprint scanner was installed flush with the door surface by Fuhr, along with the Multitronic 881 lock. We were very satisfied with both systems for over 10 years.

However, they only work with motorized locks.

If someone wants to break into the house, they are more likely to break a glass panel of the patio door…
