Hello

We currently need to decide on a front door.
Our door has an automatic locking system, which we want to extend with an A-opener.

The A-opener is from Winkhaus.

We would like to have a fingerprint scanner installed.

I have read a lot and wonder which fingerprint scanner we should choose.

The options are the Biokey Inside, integrated directly into the door leaf.

Ekey dline, also installed in the door leaf, with communication via Alexa (if I understood correctly).

Ekey home as a wall-mounted unit.

Is the Ekey home also compatible with Alexa?

Which fingerprint scanner would you recommend to us?

We need to order our front door now in week 21.

We want to install the Winkhaus blueMatic EAV3 with A-opening function and only prepare the wiring for the ekey system.

What should we tell the electrician about how to connect the electric door lock?

Should he run the cable for the door lock all the way to the distribution board, and also run the cable from the ekey on the facade to the distribution board?

Did I understand that correctly?

We decided against fingerprint locks, as I hardly know any customers who are truly satisfied with them.

We use code and NFC, and that works perfectly.

There are no problems with Ekey. I know at least 20 projects where it works without issues. RFID still works regardless. A code is less secure than a key... You definitely need to differentiate between different fingerprint systems.

What progress have you made so far? The Ekey sLine or xLine is still not available or supposedly expected in Q1 2023.

We are currently facing a similar situation and are torn between the “old” Ekey system with line reader, the new dLine integrated into the door handle/front door, or waiting to install the sLine with the Gira TX44 or 106 doorbell system.
I find it really difficult right now—our house should be ready to move in around April/May 2023. On one hand, I’d prefer the new reader where just placing a finger is enough, but on the other hand, the setup via app is a big downside, especially if Ekey goes bankrupt, etc. Then you wouldn’t get any replacement for a faulty control unit, and the wired version loses its supposed advantage as well.
Regarding security, an offline system is naturally more secure, but given our location and situation, I’m less concerned about that.

For everyone interested, the new Ekey system will be available from January. However, the sLine is only offered by Gira for System 106 – so that will probably be what we use as well.

@HnghusBY Hey, where did you get that information?

I would be glad if the ekey xline (which we plan to install) will be available starting in January.

Do you have any information about the price?
