Hello everyone,
A few years ago, we bought an older house in Croatia. Since then, we have almost completely renovated the interior. Now, at the latest by next spring, we plan to install external wall insulation and apply a new facade paint.
My question is: Which facade paint would you recommend? I’m not very imaginative when it comes to colors. We definitely don’t want plain white, as we find it quite boring. Personally, I like anthracite on houses.
The tree by the facade will be cut down soon.
On the first floor, the old wooden window will be replaced by a window four times larger, in white. New white uPVC windows have already been installed.
The roof was redone two years ago.
As a little inspiration, here is a picture of the house attached.
Many thanks in advance for your replies.

There is a good reason why light colors and white are commonly used in southern regions.
I would choose colors between white and terracotta. Definitely avoid dark colors.

Hello nordanney, thank you for the quick response. However, the house is not located by the sea, but rather inland, near Zagreb. The temperatures are probably somewhat higher than in Germany.
Would you still advise against using dark colors?
What do you think of the color "Cappuccino"?
Best regards

Hello,
In my opinion, anthracite definitely doesn’t suit that, and even less with the red roof. Setting aside the heat absorption issue. A bright white color probably wouldn’t fit the region either. I could well imagine a very light terracotta / ocher / beige. It should be light and still provide a clear contrast to the roof color.
Best regards,
Andreas
