Hello, we are planning to build this summer and I am currently getting to know various companies specializing in solid construction in the region and presenting them with our design.

The house is already clear in our minds, so we can confidently explain our project.

Now the offers are coming in.

The prices are all quite similar.

So here is the question.

We can’t decide.

Important factors: first impression, size of the staff, how long they have been on the market, and whether they rely heavily on subcontractors.

Contacting homeowners who have built with the company (I think this is the most important point) and the price.

Are there any other things I could check to find out which company is reliable?

I’m somehow uncertain about this.
Thanks to all of you.

Then visit the current construction sites of the building companies and observe the masons/helpers, their proper work attire. Check the organization of the site, as a “mess” or disorder would be a bad sign. Is clean masonry being done? Note: I once had a construction business and always paid close attention to order and cleanliness.

Didn’t you write in one of the other posts that you have already signed a contract?

Is Haus Compagnie no longer an option? Did you put them off?

In Schleswig-Holstein, I would either go with a local builder or, if looking nationwide, then Team Massiv. They are professionals and still relatively decent to deal with. Karste

I would also pay attention to correct German, spelling errors, comma placement, and grammar – I’m not referring to simple typos here. Some people actually leave their documented construction site looking like a rhetorical mess [emoji6][emoji6][emoji6]

I have not yet made a final decision on a company.
I do not want to go into details here at this point.
