Hello everyone, I am planning to assemble an IKEA PLATSA shelving system and am looking for ways to connect the parts without using tools. Specifically, I am interested in connection methods or components suitable for PLATSA that would allow me to avoid using screwdrivers or cordless drills altogether. Are there any suitable bracket connectors, snap-fit systems, or special clips that are stable enough and can be installed without any tools? It is important to me that the construction remains solid and does not come loose easily. Does anyone have experience with this or know of products that work well with PLATSA? Thanks in advance for your tips and advice.

If you really don’t want to use any tools at all, the only option would be a modular system, though not the original Platsa. Adapters or custom-made plastic parts might help, but they won’t provide full stability.

I don’t know of any suitable solutions for completely tool-free connections that are stable.

Thanks, that matches my expectation.

I’m curious whether there are at least some components that can be inserted in between, like small clips or clamps that support screw connections and at least reduce the need for tools. Does anyone have specific products in mind?

Or does anyone know of third-party suppliers that offer “tool-friendly” connectors for PLATSA? I don’t want to do without tools entirely but would like to simplify the assembly process.
