Hello everyone, I’m planning to buy new Billy bookcases, but I want to gather good information beforehand to choose the easiest-to-maintain option. Specifically, I’m interested in which version or surface finish of Billy bookcases is easiest to clean and least prone to scratches, stains, or water marks in everyday use. It’s important to me that the bookcase does not show signs of wear too quickly after extended use and that I don’t have to constantly use special cleaning products. In addition to everything mentioned so far: Melamine surfaces should ideally be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Harsh sponges or abrasive cleaners can leave micro-scratches that cause the surface to appear dull over time. For minor scratches, it is recommended to use a special repair paste – IKEA offers small kits that work well.
