Hello everyone, I recently bought an IKEA Brimnes bed and am now about to assemble it. I want to work as efficiently and error-free as possible since I don’t want to have to take everything apart again. What assembly tips are especially helpful for the IKEA Brimnes? I’m mainly looking for practical advice on preparation, the order of assembly, and common pitfalls. I’m also interested to know if there are any special tools that make assembly easier or if the included tools are sufficient. I look forward to your experiences and instructions!

I always wonder if all the effort with a cordless screwdriver and perfection is really necessary for a piece of furniture that often doesn’t last for decades. IKEA furniture is designed for simple assembly, so over-perfecting can sometimes cause more stress than it’s worth. But hey, to each their own...That’s basically true, but especially with Brimnes, there are reports that sloppy assembly can lead to squeaking or loosening parts later on. Since the bed is subject to stress, I would prioritize a sturdy assembly. Perhaps it’s due to the construction method or material thicknesses that mistakes become more noticeable?

There are reports, especially with Brimnes, that poor assembly later causes squeaking or loosening parts.Exactly, this is often because the screws were either not properly installed or overtightened. Additionally, hidden misalignments cause gaps to widen over time. My advice: work in stages and double-check all connections. With Brimnes, which has built-in storage compartments, precise alignment is especially important.

When assembling the drawers, always align the slides correctly; otherwise, they may jam later. That’s a good tip. Additionally, when inserting the drawers, carefully secure the side locking clips to prevent the slides from shifting. If possible, do a dry fit first.

Use felt pads under the bed; they protect the floor and prevent the structure from wobbling or making noise.Exactly, felt pads are especially recommended for laminate or hardwood flooring.
