Hello everyone, I recently purchased the IKEA Brimnes and am planning to assemble it soon. However, I’m wondering which assembly steps are particularly important to ensure the furniture is stable and functional once completed. I’m especially interested in whether there are any critical phases during the assembly process that require extra care, or if there are components that are often underestimated. Perhaps you have experience with the Brimnes or with similar IKEA furniture and can offer tips on which steps should not be overlooked and what to pay special attention to. Thank you in advance!
I would like to take a somewhat more critical look at the assembly instructions. It is often assumed that the order of the steps is not that important as long as everything fits together in the end.
I fully agree with that. An incorrect sequence can, for example, make it harder to reach screws later on or affect the fit and finish. Even more important: the instructions do not always take into account the loading and unloading of individual parts within the space. I recommend making a plan before starting assembly to determine which parts should be installed first and how they will be stored in the room. This helps avoid mistakes due to lack of space or incorrect handling.
In addition, I think it is worthwhile to check stability during the process, for example by adjusting the leveling feet before installing the drawers. This prevents minor wobbles at the end.
