dudulauHello everyone, I wanted to start a discussion about “Which assembly steps are particularly critical for the Ikea Brimnes series?”
I’ve noticed that certain steps in the assembly of this model can be quite tricky, especially when using the instructions for the first time. Therefore, I’m interested in hearing about your experiences and which assembly steps in the BRIMNES series are especially critical – that is, which parts should definitely not be underestimated to avoid mistakes, or where it might be better to invest a bit more time and care.
If you have any tips on how to handle certain steps more effectively or common pitfalls to watch out for, I would really appreciate your feedback!

The assembly of the IKEA BRIMNES requires special attention to the following points:
- Assembling the drawer slides: It is important that they are aligned precisely; otherwise, the drawers may stick or sit crooked.
- Attaching the back panel: This must be fixed exactly at the designated points to ensure stability. Inaccuracies can cause warping.
- Installing the screw connections in the side panels: Since these parts form the main frame, excessive force should be avoided to prevent the holes from tearing out.
In summary, precision in alignment and careful tightening of screws are crucial. Impatience can easily lead to damage.

The assembly of the IKEA BRIMNES requires particular attention to the following points:Fitigu sums it up very well. I would like to add that especially with the drawers, it is important to pay attention to the order of the individual components. A common mistake is installing the metal drawer runners the wrong way around – this can later cause the drawers to stick or not slide smoothly.
I also recommend tightening the screws only by hand initially, and then retightening them once the entire assembly is complete. It is equally important to use good-quality screwdrivers, as IKEA often includes simple Phillips heads that can get damaged if too much force is applied.
The back panel is best positioned with the help of an assistant to keep it straight; otherwise, it can easily become crooked, which makes the overall structure unstable.
I’m really impressed with BRIMNES, but yes, some assembly steps can be quite tricky! Especially the drawer runners – I had to try twice before they operated smoothly and properly. It’s important to take your time and not rush, so you’ll enjoy it for a long time!
Also: When attaching the back panel, make sure to position it correctly. Even better: tighten the screws gently at first and don’t fully secure everything right away. If parts don’t fit perfectly, this allows you to make adjustments without having to take everything apart again.
I hope this helps, and good luck with the assembly! You can do it!
