Good morning everyone, I am looking for an app or software that can help me plan Ikea Platsa furniture. I want to create some custom combinations but first want to plan them virtually to check if the dimensions and variations really fit. Is there an official app recommended by Ikea that is specifically suitable for PLATSA? Or which applications would you recommend to accurately represent space, measurements, and options? It is also important to me that the program is not too complicated to use, as I don’t want to use professional CAD software. Thanks in advance!

Hello KAUNA, your question is exactly the point where many IKEA fans find themselves. There is actually no dedicated official IKEA app designed solely for planning PLATSA. However, the general IKEA Planner app works quite well since it includes the PLATSA modules and allows you to arrange your furniture in 3D. Alternatively, I can offer you the following tips:

- The IKEA Home Planner works online and enables easy visualization
- The PLATSA range itself also has a detailed view with dimensions on the IKEA website, which you can use alongside it

If you want an even more intuitive app, there are third-party options specialized in furniture planning, such as SketchUp with PLATSA components, but that can be more complex.

If you like, I can write you a brief guide for the IKEA Home Planner.

Oh yes, I can definitely recommend the Ikea 3D Planner! 👌 I love how you can easily assemble the PLATSA units there. You can see right away in the room layout if everything fits. It’s really great for beginners and it’s fun too! Just jump in, enter the measurements, connect the modules, and you’re all set. If you need help with how to use it, just let me know—I’m happy to help! 😊

Just use the official IKEA Home Planner online. PLATSA is included, so you can avoid the learning curve of complicated software.

Hey KAUNA, I find the IKEA app for the 3D planner really convenient, especially if you don’t want to struggle with complicated software. With it, you can just start building like it’s a Lego set 😊. Of course, it doesn’t offer the same depth of features as CAD, but it’s more than enough for PLATSA.

Regarding the question about an app for planning IKEA PLATSA furniture:

1. The official IKEA Home Planner supports PLATSA components and enables precise room planning.
2. The interface is intuitive, as it is designed for non-professional users.
3. Third-party programs such as SketchUp require additional adjustments, which can make handling more complicated.
4. As a general recommendation, measure the room dimensions accurately before purchase and enter them into the app to ensure a perfect fit.

One more note: Make sure the program also optimizes the order of the modules, as this can save some hassle.
