Hello everyone, I am currently exploring the IKEA PLATSA system in more detail and considering how to make this modular storage not only functional but also visually appealing. My main question is: which accessories or additions do you think work especially well with IKEA PLATSA to both enhance practical use and make the overall look more personalized and homely? I am interested in items such as inserts, handles, lighting elements, or decorative pieces that are directly compatible or suitable. I would appreciate any experiences or creative ideas that could help integrate the PLATSA system optimally into one’s own space.

Hey muromeo, your question perfectly matches my current DIY vibe! 😎 With PLATSA, I especially appreciate the combination of functional elements like storage baskets and handles. Personally, I installed grippy leather or metal handles that add a bit of a "wow factor" and immediately make the whole thing look more high-end. Bonus: LEDs placed behind the shelves or in niches create a great atmosphere with minimal effort. So, if you want it cozy and practical, focus on lighting and quality handles – it works wonders! ✨

Hello muromeo, I completely understand your considerations. PLATSA provides a great base for a variety of customizations. Regarding your points: - For interior organization, storage inserts like fabric or plastic boxes that fit perfectly into the modules are worthwhile and help keep things tidy. - IKEA also offers handles in different styles, such as wood or metal, which you can choose based on your decor style. - Lighting is a real advantage; I recommend LED strips, which are easy to install and provide indirect lighting. - For decoration, you can use the surfaces on top or directly on the modules with picture frames, plants, or small sculptures without compromising functionality. I hope this helps with your plans!

Hello muromeo, fundamentally, I would base the choice of accessories on the position and function of the PLATSA unit. For cabinets with doors, for example, alternative handles are an efficient and sustainable way to give the furniture a personalized look. Additionally, interior organizers work very well since they significantly improve functionality regardless of appearance. Another idea would be to add extra shelving boards that serve as small intermediate shelves. For lighting, warm white LED strips are preferable to create a pleasant atmosphere. The combination of practical and visually coordinated accessories makes PLATSA special.

That's exactly what I mean! Handles are like the finishing touch and can range from classic to funky styles. And if anyone suddenly feels like adding a splash of color: colorful handles are an easy way to really brighten things up.

I also recommend placing rugs in front of the furniture, for example if the PLATSA is in the living room. This nicely rounds off the corner and makes the setup feel more personal. Not exactly an accessory for PLATSA, but I find small details like these important.

Replace the handles, add baskets and boxes, and attach LED strips to the back. That’s about all you need. Just avoid placing overloaded decorations directly on it, as that can quickly make it look cluttered.
