We plan to start building next year but are unsure about the perfect timing! (Since we currently live rent-free, the timing does not matter financially.)

What do you think? ---> April or rather the end of June?

There is no single perfect date that suits everyone, and I don’t see any significant difference between starting in April or June. What matters more is whether the house is being built traditionally, brick by brick, or if a prefabricated house is chosen. The only period I would advise against starting excavation work is in November, December, January, and possibly February.

What is crucial is that you clearly know what you want, that this is precisely agreed upon in the contract, and that the financing is finalized.

Hello,
I can imagine that when your own house is calling, you don’t want to wait longer than necessary. In that case, I would start building in spring. The construction should have enough time to dry properly before you move in. So, April would definitely be a much better time.

I believe that a perfect timing doesn’t really exist. The best approach is to be as well prepared as possible.

I would advise you to start building only after you have scheduled all appointments with the tradespeople. The planning must be finalized first, and only then should you begin construction.

Perhaps it would be better to start building soon so that the shell of the building is completed before autumn, due to water (rain, etc.).
