Hello everyone, I am planning to assemble the Ikea Brimnes bed frame soon and wanted to ask about your experiences: Has anyone had the chance to put together the Brimnes bed before? I am particularly interested in practical tips for assembly, potential pitfalls, and advice regarding the included tools and materials. Since the assembly instructions can sometimes be a bit unclear, I would like to know in advance if there are any specific sections or steps to pay extra attention to, especially regarding stability and safety. The Brimnes is such a classic – I assembled it last year and actually found it quite straightforward. ? My tip: Play some music in the background and take your time with each step, especially when tightening the screws. Less is more – don’t apply too much force at once. And yes, it’s definitely more fun and faster with two people! In general, no need to panic, this thing is quite durable.
I wanted to add that properly assembling the back panel is really crucial for the stability. If it is not installed correctly, the bed can quickly become warped. I also recommend using the assembly tools included in the package and not improvising, as the screws have different sizes and profiles. If you plan to disassemble the bed frequently, be careful, as the holes can enlarge from too many assembly and disassembly cycles.

It is important to secure the slats of the bed base precisely with anchors and screws. A tip: before the final fastening, check if everything is aligned correctly and the slats lock in well, so nothing will wobble later. If you feel you need a bit more stability, slight improvements can be made with small wooden wedges or additional wooden strips at the contact points. However, this is often not necessary if you follow the instructions carefully.
