Hello Forum,

I’m curious to see how the "flooring preferences" are distributed here in our forum. You have the option to select up to 4 types of flooring.
It would also be great if you could briefly mention the rooms and the type of flooring in your post.

For example:
Kitchen = tiles
Bathroom = tiles
Living room = hardwood
Children’s room = laminate

I am now reconsidering whether carpet might actually be nicer than laminate flooring in the bedroom.
How much does carpet cost per square meter? And above all, what should you watch out for to avoid bringing "plasticizers and other chemicals" into the bedroom?

Yes, I chose the same for my apartment.
I had 2-meter-wide (2m/6.5ft) material from Tretford installed. It is carpet made from goat hair and new wool, entirely natural materials. It comes in many shades, so I was able to match the carpet almost exactly to the color of the tiles in my hallway and other areas.
Unfortunately, this type of carpet is not exactly cheap; it costs around 40 to 45 euros per square meter (430 to 420 USD per square yard), excluding installation. However, it is really very warm and comfortable underfoot.

Hallway, bathrooms, utility room – tiles; ground floor (bedroom, living room, kitchen) – vinyl; upper floor – laminate. Budget, budget, budget... otherwise, I would have chosen hardwood flooring instead of vinyl/laminate everywhere.

Basement, entrance hall, bathroom, and guest toilet = tiled.
Living room/dining room/kitchen (open area), 3 bedrooms, hallway on ground and upper floors = high-quality click vinyl flooring.
Attic room = laminate flooring.

Hallway, utility room, toilet, kitchen/dining area, bathroom -> tiled.
Living room, bedroom, dressing room, children’s room -> parquet flooring.
Basement fitness room, storage, workshop, mechanical room -> bare screed for now!

Think carefully about the screed, because it will bring a constant amount of dust into your home... permanently...
