Hello Forum,
I’m curious to see how the "flooring preferences" are distributed here in our forum. You have the option to select up to 4 types of flooring.
It would also be great if you could briefly mention the rooms and the type of flooring in your post.
For example:
Kitchen = tiles
Bathroom = tiles
Living room = hardwood
Children’s room = laminate

P.S. With underfloor heating, the tiles are not cold either.But only if the heating is not properly adjusted...
We have uniform wood-effect tiles throughout the ground floor (except in the office, where there is carpet).
Upstairs, both bathrooms have tiles. The bedrooms, upper hallway, and stairs are covered with a durable loop pile carpet.
So far, we are very satisfied with our choice.

We love natural building materials, which is why we have solid wood floorboards throughout (both staircases, the entire upper floor except the bathroom, living and dining area 52m² (560ft²)). In the ground floor hallway, bathrooms, kitchen, and possibly the basement, there will be tiles (Sollnhofer slabs).

I was actually considering cork for the bedroom and children's room.
How durable is it? Like with a toddler who likes to throw things around... Doesn’t it get damaged easily? Who throws children? :P Ask me again in 10 years... I’m not worried at all. Our family also has positive experience with cork (for example in the stairwell, in the kitchen... areas that aren’t exactly low-traffic).

Palladian slabs? That would probably look great and should harmonize very well with wood.
Best regards, Bauexperte
