Hello Forum,

I’m curious to see how the "flooring preferences" are distributed here in our forum. You have the option to select up to 4 types of flooring.
It would also be great if you could briefly mention the rooms and the type of flooring in your post.

For example:
Kitchen = tiles
Bathroom = tiles
Living room = hardwood
Children’s room = laminate

We have real hardwood floors throughout our rental apartment, except in the bathroom. Even in the kitchen. And we have a small child. It’s not a problem; the scratches and dents are mostly in other areas, and the kitchen floor still looks very good.
I don’t like tiles.

  • Bathrooms, basement including stairs, ground floor hallway, utility room & kitchen -> tiles
  • Upper floor stairs, dining & living rooms, and entire upper floor including hallway glued parquet (engineered wood planks)
This is the current plan... even though I recently had second thoughts about the tiles

Same floor tiles throughout the entire ground floor as well as in the utility room on the upper floor, wood-look tiles in the bathroom on the upper floor.
Bamboo parquet in the all-purpose room on the ground floor, carpet in the remaining rooms on the upper floor.

Hallway on the ground floor, utility room, guest toilet, and bathroom: tiles.
All other rooms: cork (glued down and sealed).

Same floor tiles in the living/kitchen area, study, hallway, and storage room
Different tiles as well as mosaic tiles in the bathroom
Goat hair/new wool carpet in the sleeping area

And all of this in my rental apartment with underfloor heating

I was actually considering cork for the bedroom and children's room as well. How durable is it? With a toddler who likes to throw things around, won’t it get damaged quickly?
